HiFIT-Treatment for A.T.A Aschersleben

Improvement of the fatigue strength of a new support from a press from over 400to weight.

A.T.A Aschersleben is a specialist for heavy and heaviest steel components and welded constructions. For their customer Gräbener Maschinentechnik GmbH & Co. KG A.T.A built single parts with unit weights of over 200to for a press brake. The upper and lower crossheads were welded together on site at the end customer. 100% full seam connections were chosen.

The finished press brake is subjected to strong forces that will cyclically act on the welded joints for many years. Since subsequent stress-relief annealing was out of the question due to the high masses and dimensions, the corresponding joint seams were treated with the HiFIT process.

HiFIT was on site with several employees and treated the weld seams of the upper and lower cross beams to increase the service life. Thanks to the extremely high processing speed of the HiFIT hammer, a total of over 400 linear meters of weld seam could be processed within a very short time.

This did not hinder the processes during the assembly of the press.
